Announcing the 2013 Laurel Award Winner

2013 LAUREL AWARD WINNER

Author MaryLu Tyndall's novel
VEIL OF PEARLS
is the winner of Clash of the Titles's third annual Laurel Award.

CONGRATULATIONS, MARYLU!

MaryLu will receive: a beautiful banner to display on her website, a year-long page on COTT dedicated to the winning book, Veil of Pearls, a radio interview with author and Christian Authors Guild board member, Cynthia L Simmons, a feature tour on COTT's Blog Alliance, and a lovely plaque.

Veil of Pearls was chosen by a panel of judges who, by means of a score sheet, narrowed the list of competing authors to three. From there, the panel put their choices to a straight vote. MaryLu finaled in last year's Laurel, but this year her novel, Veil of Pearls, went straight to the top and took the crown.

Special thanks to each of our judges who volunteered their time to this contest.

A BRIEF SUMMARY OF VEIL OF PEARLS:
Charleston in 1811 is bustling with immigrants like Adalia, a runaway slave so light-skinned that no one guesses. She is terrified her secret will be discovered, but when the handsome son of a prominent family sweeps her into his glamorous world, the secret could be ruinous—for both of them.

Stay tuned for the full-length feature of MaryLu's winning novel, Veil of Pearls!
