Interview with Delia

How do you pack emotions into your writing without going too far?

I'm assuming you're asking about emotions having to do with passion, since that's where an inspirational romance has to draw a line. I haven't found staying on this side of the line difficult at all, probably because, in my humble opinion, romance is so much more romantic at the stage just prior to physical consummation. The delicious shivers of expectation, the humming of emotion through one's entire being, the anticipation of more to come. And there's something so sweetly romantic about a man and a woman being willing to save that peak of passion for their wedding night, and to me as a reader, I love when the author is able to take me right to the bedroom door, but then leave me and my imagination to write between the lines. I stop the scene when my heart tells me I'm pushing the limits of what should be taken behind closed doors.

What is your favorite genre to write and what do you love about it?

Romance - but I love adding little touches of the supernatural. Angels seem to find their way into my books without my invitation...but that's OK. Apparently God has a reason for that, and I'm certain He knows more about it than I do.

What has your experience been as a staff member of Clash of the Titles?

I'm very, very new as a staff member, but I'm truly loving it. Everyone is helpful and encouraging, and I think we all share the common goal of wanting to see COTT grow and become a force to be reckoned with in the blogging arena. I love having the opportunity to get an inside peek into the lives of the authors - some of whom I'm familiar with, as well as those who are new to me. I didn't realize exactly how much work went into a site like COTT, and I'm extremely impressed with the dedication and teamwork involved, among the entire staff. I feel blessed to be a part of it!
